Vashist is born of Centro de Ayurveda — a Portuguese institution practising and teaching Ayurveda since 2000, DGERT-certified in 2018, and a member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association.
Founder of Centro de Ayurveda · Guardian of the Vashist Project
For more than two decades, David Ferreira has trained, treated, and accompanied people who turn to Ayurveda for an integrative answer to their health — not as a replacement for conventional medicine, but as ancient wisdom that complements it.
Vashist is his offering to the Ayurvedic community — a way to amplify teaching without replacing it. To make classical knowledge — the texts of Charaka, Sushruta, Vagbhata — accessible, navigable, and personal, without losing rigour.
One of the few entities in Portugal DGERT-certified to teach Ayurveda. Operating in Bicesse since the year 2000.
Headquartered in Bicesse, Alcabideche, Centro de Ayurveda is one of the few entities in Portugal certified by DGERT (Direção-Geral do Emprego e das Relações de Trabalho) to teach Ayurveda — a certification obtained in September 2018.
It is also a member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA), ensuring alignment with the international standards of the discipline and recognition within the global Ayurveda community.
Institutional guarantees of rigour and international standard.

Certified Training Entity by Direção-Geral do Emprego e das Relações de Trabalho since September 2018.

National Ayurvedic Medical Association — alignment with international standards of Ayurvedic practice.
Centro de Ayurveda trains professionals, not just enthusiasts. Over the years, hundreds of students have completed the Master Programme and become certified practitioners — operating in clinics across Portugal, Spain, Brazil, and other geographies.
Many of these professionals are listed on Vashist's consultation marketplace. When you book a consultation through the platform, you're likely talking to someone trained in this lineage — not an anonymous therapist on a generic marketplace.
Every product decision reflects this: recommendations are grounded in RAG over classical texts, not random internet data. The five constitutional assessments (Prakriti, Vikrutti, Koshta, Guna, Ojas) follow the tradition.
Our 30, 60, and 90-day Wellness Protocols can be supervised by real practitioners. AI is a tool — never a replacement for the human practitioner. Knowledge remains sacred; technology, in its service.
Vashist is offered as seva — a service to the Ayurvedic community. Its sustainability depends on our collective commitment to use it not for convenience, but for conscious learning and responsible practice.
We are not a fixed clinic. Our trainings, consultations, and ceremonies take place across multiple venues throughout the year, in Portugal and beyond. To reach us or check the upcoming calendar, use the channels below.
The Prakriti test takes eight minutes. The rest of the platform unfolds from there.
